Boots and Paddle Adventure

Teen / 14 days / July 8 - 21

$3,800 per person

Early Bird Registration through January 31st ($200 off)

Overview

Get out and adventure! This experience will begin with backpacking in Yellowstone National Park canoeing the Missouri River, and finishing with some whitewater rafting on the Alberton Gorge. From America’s first National Park to the river on which Lewis and Clark had their historical adventure, this landscape gives teens a wide variety of views and skills.

Participants will be met with high-spirited and dynamic challenges that will require them to work collectively to problem-solve, take initiative, create a vision, and develop leadership skills. These challenges will bring daily laughter and fun, as well as help them get to know each other in a new way. Additionally, teens will develop expedition-based skills such as camp crafts and navigation. Our experiences are led by knowledgeable and highly-skilled professional guides.

Itinerary

July 8th: Guides will meet participants at the airport in Bozeman, Montana. From there, the group will camp outside Livingston, Montana, where they will orient themselves to each other, their guides, and their gear.

July 9th - 13th: Today the group will drive into Yellowstone National Park and go to their trailhead. On the way, there will be multiple opportunities for wildlife sitings. The hiking will be designed for all levels of ability. Teens will move through the itinerary and find many opportunities for graduated challenges, swimming, fishing, and relaxing.

July 13th: The group will complete the final miles of their hike and arrive back at their vehicle. Transporting to Bozeman Hot Springs will be exciting. Resting tired muscles in warm water, going out for dinner, and enjoying the accomplishments.

July 14th: Transition to Missouri River will happen today. The group will do the grocery shop, getting all their favorite foods and meal ingredients before arriving at their campsite. The night will be transitioning the gear and prepping for the canoe expedition.

July 15th - 18th: Letting the canoe take the weight instead of their backs will be a welcomed feeling for everyone. The group will enjoy the downstream momentum of the river as they paddle the Upper Missouri River. From slot canyons to swimming, they will explore on water and off just as Lewis and Clark once did upon their first views of this area.

July 19th: After a morning paddle, the group will take off the Missouri River to find their van and the creature comforts left behind. From here they will drive to Missoula, Montana, to meet their river guide hosts and settle into their new camp.

July 20th: Today will be spent whitewater rafting the Alberton Gorge! After the adrenaline rush of class 3 and 4 rapids, the group will clean themselves up for a night in town. A celebration dinner in Missoula will be the finale of the trip.

July 21st: Guides will support and deliver teens to the airport in the early morning. Those staying on will begin the short drive to Sandpoint, Idaho, to transition to Sea Kayaking!
