PARENTS COME ONE COME ALL!

This is a Parent’s Journey designed for moms, dads, couples, and primary caregivers of children, teens, and young adults. So much of raising our children is about the child and their needs. It is rare that we find as many opportunities in our daily lives to support ourselves in being our best for our children.

Why is it important that I consider this trip?

We often spend most of our time giving to those children and learning how to meet their needs. Working to create peace and serenity within the family unit and provide structure is not an easy job. This experience is an opportunity for you to put yourself first for a week. 

What will I get out of this?

This uniquely choreographed journey down the Green River of Utah will assist you in finding rejuvenation through the connection with other parents, the support and guidance from Hilary Moses and Kelly Weld, and a sense of peace and serenity that only nature can provide.

I’m still not sure if it’s for me…

Imagine for a moment that you get to give back to yourself as you float down a river and unplugged. Look up at the stars as the crackling fire warms you at night. You will laugh, play, and rest. The landscape around you is ever changing and you will leave this experience with your cup replenished and those empty spaces within you are full of hope, love, and support.

I’ve never canoed or camped?

This 7-day journey is powered by nature and paired with highly skilled guides and amazing programming facilitators. No experience is necessary. Our trips are designed for those who have never done it before. We believe in you. Trust us and come see how much you will enjoy it! Breakwater Expeditions and Rooted Connections Retreats have been working with each other since 2018.

Bringing people into the outdoors with intention and purpose is our shared mission. With our combined expertise, our participants feel cared for, seen, and fully capable of the adventure.

Breakwater Expeditions has been guiding on the Green River since 2011 and are expert wilderness guides, fully trained in wilderness medicine, and master’s of camp living.

Hilary Moses and Kelly Weld are skilled clinicians that have spent years working with adolescents, young adults, and families in a variety of settings.

It boils down to a dream team that will surely provide you with a trip of a lifetime with memories that you will cherish forever. In addition, our participants are always wanting to come back for more after feeling the power of these nature-based river trips.

• Trip Cost for an Individual: $2575 | Cost for a couple: $4900

  • The trip is all inclusive once you arrive in Grand Junction, Colorado Day 1

  • Not included: airfare or other travel costs to and from Grand Junction, dinner on the last night in Grand Junction

• Group Size: 6-14 participants

• Lodging: 2 nights hotel lodging and 4 nights camping

• Transportation: To and from hotel and river is included. Hotel has an airport shuttle for your convenience.

• Temperatures: Range from 50 to 75 degrees.

• Gear: Quality gear that keeps you warm, dry and comfortable. Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, camp chairs, waterproof duffle bags, and more. You will receive a recommended packing list for clothes and personal items needed.

• Canoes: We paddle sturdy expedition Royalex canoes, 17-21 ft. Paddles and PFDs included.

• Cuisine: Gourmet meals, snacks and appetizers provided by and prepared by our staffing team. Will include meat, fish, vegetables, grains, nuts, fruits, and more. We can accommodate special dietary needs.
